About
Who are we?
The Student Stop AIDS Campaign is made up of students at universities and colleges across the country who believe that the world’s response to the HIV pandemic is insufficient and unacceptable.
As part of the broad coalition of NGOs which make up the Stop AIDS Campaign, Student Stop AIDS Societies work to bring about the changes in national and international policy which will turn the tide on the spread of HIV and minimise its devastating impact on people and communities around the world.
Through informing, educating, lobbying, demonstrating and a whole range of other activities, the Student Stop AIDS campaign aims to bring an end to the injustice of HIV/AIDS by ensuring the government, business and the rest of the developed world lives up to their promises to deliver universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.
The Student Stop AIDS Campaign was launched in 2003 at universities across the UK. Since then it has established itself as a highly effective campaigning and awareness raising network. Key to the work of the Student Stop AIDS campaign is the understanding and belief that young people have the potential and capacity to fight for global issues and act as agents of change.
