On Tuesday 16th March 30 Students from across the UK descended on London for the Student Stop AIDS March Day of Action.

The day started with a lively debate between the students, Mike Foster MP, Lab (Parliamentary under Secretary of State for International Development), Baroness Northover from the Lib Dems and Daniel Kawczynski MP for the Conservatives and Leonor Magtolis Briones from the Philippines and David Hillman from Stamp Out Poverty.

The day focused on the Robin Hood Tax and funding, and whilst all panel members were supportive of the aims of the tax, they were less willing to say the UK should be forging a lead and going alone on a sterling currency tax.

In the afternoon students went and lobbied their own MPs, speaking to 11 MPs in total, before commencing on the Robin Hood treasure hunt, which took them to sites around London, taking photos and videos of members of the public and statues in green masks!
