SPW Speaker Tour: Volunteer Cook

SPW UK (www.spw.org) is currently recruiting for a volunteer cook to help during training for the joint Speaker Tour 2009.

An exciting opportunity to gain experience working as part of international initiative uniting young people to push back HIV and AIDS

10 days from 1st October – 10th October 2009

Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK

Voluntary post with all food, accommodation and travel expenses paid

SPW UK runs the dance4life project and the Student Stop AIDS Campaign. An integral part of these initiatives is the joint UK Tour. We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join the tour team during training.

The tour brings together young people, from across the world, who have been personally affected by the AIDS pandemic. The Tour travels to schools and universities across the UK, inspiring students to take action.

The successful applicant will need to be a confident cook, have the ability to manage a budget and design cooking and cleaning rotas for the evening meal. As the Cook, you will be expected to produce breakfast, lunch, evening meal and light refreshments throughout the day for all 10 days of the training. You will need to have good time management skills and excellent leadership abilities. All members of the Tour Team will be expected to help you at various points during the day.

SPW will pay for your travel to and from the hostel within reason. We will provide you with a bed in shared accommodation and food during training.

As this post is unpaid and UK based, non-EC nationals will require current and valid permission to live in the UK.
