Last term, Sussex students voted unanimously for the University of Sussex Students Union (USSU) to make a Coalition of BSMS and Sussex Stop AIDS Campaign groups an Essential Campaign, meaning that we would get access to unprecedented amounts of funding. According to Rob Lee (USSU Campaigns Officer) the results were so in favour of our Coalition that nominations nearly had to be re-opened on every other potential Essential Campaign proposal.

For operational and timetabling reasons, the committees will remain separate yet will stay in close contact and collaborate on all ventures, which will effectively double the potential number of total Coalition committee members and create a wider surface area for publicity and networking purposes.
