To keep Mr Brown and Mr Alexander’s from straying from action on AIDS send them the Stop AIDS e-action. Pass on this page as a link to friends, family, acquaintances, and pets (they might want to stop AIDS too), to keep the issue from slipping off the political agenda. A pat on the back to those who spot, and correct, the typo (here’s a clue it’s in the first paragraph). Feel free to add to it and personalise it, MPs love that.

You have both spoken passionately about keeping promises in tackling poverty and fighting disease, but now is the time when your leadership and action is most needed.
To keep the promise of Universal Access by 2010, please ensure that the new AIDS Strategy includes:
• A funding commitment of £2.5bn over three years to tackle AIDS.
• Strong measures to increase access to affordable generic medicines, including
tackling trade barriers and launching a ‘patent pool’ for essential medicines.
• Action to address the global health worker shortage and provide long-term
investment in health systems.
I hope that you will take these actions, and truly support communities affected by HIV and AIDS across the world.
