AIDS Awareness Week - Sheffield

Sheffield Stop AIDS have been hard at work organising loads of events in the lead up to December the 1st, World AIDS day!
It all kicks off at 7:30pm on Monday the 26th of November with an HIV workshop.

7.30pm, Faculty Room, Medical School.
On Weds the 28th we’ll be screening ‘A closer walk’ - a film about the global AIDS epidemic narrated by the one and only Will Smith. Bring some money for tasty cakes. Lecture theatre 6 - Arts Tower 7pm.
On Thursday the 29th the “Red Effect” . UNICEF in conjunction with Stop AIDS,
and Oxfam are planning a high class evening of entertainment including live jazz band and red themed food and drinks. An amazing fire performance outside the venue by the Flying Teapots Circus Society will also feature! 8pm the Dam House, tickets £5 from the box office.
Friday 30th Red Day - raise awareness by wearing red! Come to our stall and add your eyes to “the world is watching” campaign. Come and visit us outside the union 11-2 Thursday and Friday and take part in our publicity stunt - where we’ll be organising an aerial photo of a human AIDS ribbon at 1pm.
1st December “Hope through the arts?”a free event organised by the music department in the Octagon from 12-6pm. March through Broomhill from the Octagon at 11:30. Speakers, stalls, performances and more!
Then, in the evening it’s your final chance to wear red and support the cause for Pop Tarts RED at the union!
