The Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and malaria has saved almost 2 million lives since its establishment in 2002. With the right level of investment it could save many, many more! The second Global Fund Replenishment conference is taking place on the 26th-28th September, 2007. This is the first big test of Gordon Brown’s commitment to the promise of Universal Access to AIDS Treatment by 2010. By pledging the full amount of the UK’s fair share of funding over the next three years, Brown can show real dedication to providing access to treatment for those in desperate need of the essential life-saving medication. In the words of the man himself; “We cannot allow our promises that became pledges to descend into just aspirations, and then wishful thinking, and then only words that symbolise broken promises.” (Gordon Brown, July 2007)
Sign this e-action to Gordon Brown and let him know that we are watching to see if he can live up to his words and fully Fund the Global Fund!
