Speak or write to your MP and ask them to write to the DTI and DFID to find out their position on the Thai government’s issuing of the compulsory license for Kaletra.

In theory DFID support countries in making full use of the TRIPS flexibilities. Are they prepared to publicly state their support for this brave step that the Thai government has made? In a case like this where the Thai government is open to so much adverse political pressure, the support of the UK government could be crucial to supporting their actions and encouraging other countries to prioritise the lives of their citizens above the profits of pharmaceutical companies.

In raising this issue with your MP you can help to raise awareness of the campaign and encourage DFID to make a public statement as to whether they support the Thai government’s actions.
