On World AIDS Day: a candle lit vigil was held on Guy’s Campus, with poetry and music. Throughout the week the society held stalls on all 3 campuses. They sold ribbons, gave out condoms and got people to sign their petition on Universal Access and to take part in the Stop AIDS Campaign e-action from their laptops.

On Monday 27th the Stop AIDS Society held a screening of the MSF film: ‘These Patents make me sick’. The film looks in detail at the issue of access to treatment, showing the difference treatment makes where it is available, and examining the barriers to access that exist, especially in terms of patents. Following the film, Katy presented the campaign and hosted a question and answer session on the technicalities of the campaign. On Tuesday 28th November Masias Cowper, supported by Christian Aid, gave a talk to students on her personal experiences of being both HIV + and having lost a husband and child because treatment wasn’t available.
