On World AIDS Day: they held a big balloon release event.  333 balloons were released to symbolise the number of people who die every hour due to AIDS.  The MP for Manchester Central, Tony Lloyd attended the launch and made a short speech.  They also received press coverage from the Manchester evening News, BBC Radio Manchester and Tel N, a local TV channel.  The other MPs from Manchester who did not attend the event were all sent letters from the society outlining the campaign, the activities of the group and notifying them of Tony Lloyd’s support. Two stalls were also held on different areas of campus getting students to sign action cards.

On Monday 27th the Stop AIDS Society held a band night to raise money and raise the profile of their society, letting everyone know it was World AIDS Day week.
